Using the 12 volt system in your vehicle – either direct from your engine <\/span>or through a dual battery system – the Road Chef 12 volt oven can Bake, Roast <\/span>or Re-heat your favourite foods. The oven will draw 100 Watts when <\/span>it is operating fully. To help you manage your battery life there is a 120-minute<\/span>\u00a0timer dial on the front of the oven with a handy bell to let you <\/span>know when your food is ready. <\/span>You have three options on how to plug your <\/span>oven in:\u00a0<\/span>Fused Anderson Plug,\u00a0<\/span>Cigarette Lighter Plug, and Merit plug.<\/span><\/p>\n\"\"\n

From slow cooking a stew over 4 or 5 hours to cooking a pie with crispy, <\/span>crumbly pastry, you can use the temperature gauge to select the right temperature for <\/span>what you cook, from 175\u00b0F to 350\u00b0F (80\u00b0 to 180\u00b0C.) The thermostat in <\/span>the oven will automatically turn it on and off keeping it at the right <\/span>temperature. With all outer and inner parts being made from 304 or 316 <\/span>stainless steel it will stand the test of time, even in a marine environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

The food that you cook in the Road Chef is only limited by your imagination.\u00a0 <\/span>You can reheat frozen meals that you have pre-made like casseroles, stews and <\/span>curries or choose store bought food like pies, pizzas or any of the massive <\/span>range of frozen meals available at your supermarket.<\/span>\u00a0If <\/span>you\u2019ve got a little more time on your hands you can easily cook from scratch <\/span>almost anything you can do in your oven at home; a roast, lasagne, pasta bake <\/span>or muffins and cookies. Just because you\u2019re on the road doesn\u2019t mean you <\/span>have to eat boring!<\/span><\/p>\n

With two removable racks the oven allows to you cook lots of \u2018small\u2019 food like <\/span>spring rolls or mini pizzas or take the top tray out and give yourself room to <\/span>put in a roast with vegetables. Both trays are telescopic and slot securely inside, so you can pull them <\/span>out while cooking, giving you easier access to the food in the oven. You can <\/span>also remove them both giving you easy access to clean the bottom of the oven.<\/span><\/p>\n\"\"\n

One of the keys to the Road Chef oven\u2019s efficiency is the heavy-duty insulation <\/span>used to keep the heat in. Even when it is at 350\u00b0F the outside of the oven will <\/span>only be warm to touch and can be safely placed on a passenger seat. The door <\/span>is also insulated providing maximum internal temperature for minimum Amp <\/span>draw. There are three weep holes on the top of the door to allow moisture to <\/span>escape, ensuring that your pastry is flaky, that your roasts are browned, and <\/span>your mouth is watering as you drive along. The port latch securely holds the <\/span>door closed even across the roughest roads! If you are setting up an interior build<\/span>, there are two tie down brackets included. <\/span>These can be used to secure your oven to the top or underside of a shelf allowing <\/span>you maximum space saving capabilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Notes on your oven\u2019s operation<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span>Most vehicle 12V outlets are designed to take a maximum of 10 <\/span>Amps, so while the oven is only drawing around 8.3 Amps, this is close to its limit so we <\/span>suggest you hardwire it directly to your battery using an Anderson plug,<\/span>\u00a0which provides a superior connection<\/span>. The oven is fused at 15 amps and terminates in a 50-amp Anderson plug, and includes an additional 50-amp Anderson to cigarette\/merit plug adapter which also contains a 15-amp fuse<\/span>.
